J & E Hall delivers energy-efficient beer cave solution for Premier stores, Cardiff

J & E Hall has completed a specialist, energy-efficient beer cave installation for a Premier Stores convenience store in Cardiff, enhancing chilled drink presentation while reducing running costs.

Specified and installed by Craven Cooling Services, the project uses J & E Hall’s Cellar Plus chiller range to provide consistent temperatures as low as 4°C across a walk-in beer cave. The solution replaces multiple standalone refrigeration units, offering improved efficiency, reliable performance and a more immersive customer shopping experience.

Designed for flexible layouts, including L-shaped rooms, the Cellar Plus system supports pipe runs of up to 50 metres and uses low-GWP refrigerants. The beer cave was further optimised with insulated walls and a double-glazed front to minimise energy loss.

The store owner reports a significant increase in sales of chilled drinks, wines and beers since installation, alongside lower operating costs. Craven Cooling Services also praised the system for its ease of installation and dependable performance.

The project highlights how modern beer cave solutions can help retailers meet growing demand for ready-to-drink beverages while improving energy efficiency and commercial returns.
